Skiing started out as a competition sport where athletes mounted skis on the soles of their boots to perform speed, jumps and sliding descents on the snow. With the growing awareness of skiing, skiing is becoming more and more popular with the public and people of all ages want to try skiing, so do you know what equipment is needed for skiing?

Classification of skiing

Skiing is an exciting sport of snow and ice and is divided into snowboarding and snowboarding. These two types of skis are used in completely different ways, so it is important to choose the right skis for you. With a pair of skis, standing up is no problem at all and with a little practice you will be able to glide. Unlike snowboards, where standing and gliding is a big problem. So getting started on a snowboard is slightly more difficult than on a twin board, but once you get started you progress faster and have more fun than on a twin board. On a snowboard you will feel like you are wearing two very large shoes, standing up is no problem, but from the basics of snow walking, ploughing to parallel and fancy, it takes a long time to practice and stabilise. In contrast to the traditional feel of twinboarding, snowboarding falls into the category of extreme sports. It is also different from twinboarding in that the board is firmly anchored to the feet and the body weight controls the glide of the board, so that the board cannot be separated from the feet even after a fall, which adds to its danger and also brings greater excitement to the enthusiast. Ski equipment

Snowboard

In general, we should choose skis that are 5~15cm in length minus our height. For beginners, shorter skis are more flexible and easier to control, while the longer the ski, the faster the speed.

Poles

(only required for twin skis) Stand with poles, small arms perpendicular to body, arms in an “L” shape is best.

Bindings

The bindings are used to connect the snowshoes to the snowboard.

Helmet

Always wear a helmet when skiing and choose a professional ski helmet that is not too tight or too loose when worn.

Ski boots

Make sure they are compact and do not allow room for the feet to move around inside the boots.

Snow goggles

These are mainly used to protect your eyes from reflections, just find one that you like.
